Hypothesis: The decade of 1961-1970 was a cultural giant in our history. Amongst music, nationalism, wars, politics and assassinations, the 1960s would create a societal rift that would prove to be revolutionary for forthcoming generations. The hypothesis of this study is that the cultural impacts of the 1960’s would greatly impact the route that social studies education would take in the province of New Brunswick. By examining annual reports printed in the 1960’s we hope to display the significance of current events and their impact on the way social studies was taught in New Brunswick.
