Civic organization is a group formed by people from within a community to serve or attend to a matter of community interest. It is called civic as it stems from the needs of the people who share or enjoy a common need or resource. From a historical society to a parent support group to a sewing club and even a book club, civic organizations play a very important role in keeping communities together. Civic groups have been in existence in what would seem to be the beginning of time, and as it has been known to take many shapes, structures and forms, it will probably in my opinion be around till the ‘end of time.’
