Our identified concern was that the food banks in Saint John are at times lacking support. Hundreds of people in the Saint John area rely on the food bank in order to feed their families. This is a concern to us because several students from our co-‐op school rely on the food bank to stay healthy. If students are malnourished they won’t be able to learn as effectively as they would if they were properly nourished. We hoped that getting involved in this fundraiser would bring awareness and instill agency in the students to recognize that food banks are experiencing shortages and that they have the power to improve the situation.
